Walkers BBQ

I went to Walker's BBQ the other day. Walker's is in the EAST. Now, I know all you namby pamby Uptowners are thinking..."The the...East? My word!"

Look I spend very little (no) time in the East. But if I know anything about anything, things from the East are authentic. One example is all of Eastern Europe. Another is Snoop Doggy Dogg the Dogg Father from the East Side of Long Beach... or LA... I'm not really sure.

Either way Walker's BBQ kicks ass. Its good as Hell. So good it makes me use profanity for the first time on the blog. I got the Three Rib Plate with potato salad and baked beans. I think they gave me an extra rib too because they could tell I was a cool guy. It was enough for lunch the next day.

It was good and smokey and BBQ and I'm going to go back again one day. One day soon. You go too. I'll see you there.

Cochon Butcher

Who doesn't like fancy smancy deli's?

I know a post about Cochon Butcher isn't exactly breaking new ground. This place is written up more than Sucre.

But I hadn't been there yet (gasp!) and was looking for an excuse. Today nothing sounded better than sitting down with superior pork sandwich and watching some NASCAR.

After twitter requesting a twitter suggestion, the one NOLA Food Blog that actually follows us on twitter gave me the excuse I was looking for (I'm sure Blackenedout or Appetites would have responded with the same suggestion if they followed eatinginnola on twitter...).

So I went (has anyone tried the kurabuta bacon from there?) and got the BBQ Pork sandwich. It was awesome and it came with some potato salad which was awesome too and I'm not normally a potato salad guy.

The big this is this filled me up... more than filled me up really and all for less than Stein's... and you know how we feel about Steins on this blog.

St. James Cheese Shop is next on the list of sandwich places I need to try. I'm hoping its as good because I really need a good sandwich place that is Uptown.

OH OH, and I got a Mexican Coke. I love Mexican Coke.

Eating at NOLA... And then eating leftovers.

So I'm going to do a real post tonight but I've been feeling guilty and posting so infrequently...

After graduation I went with Kerry's family to NOLA down in the quarter for lunch. Rather than be the weird guy taking pictures in the restaurant I waited until I was eating left overs at 2 am Saturday night. Here you can see the fried chicken and the potato salad. There were also green onion hush puppies but I ate those up pretty quick.

Maybe the best fried chicken I've ever had. Stay tuned for a post tonight about the thing we are growing and as soon as we have money we will give you some more restaurant posts I promise.
